Wildlife Queensland gets together – Friday 30 August – Sunday 1 Sept

What’s it about?

You are invited to a weekend of making new friends and spending time with  old ones, sharing experiences, networking and importantly, having a good time. Join the Sunshine Coast & Hinterland Branch in celebrating its half-century!

There’ll be bird and wildflower walks, branch highlights, awards, guest speakers, the AGM, good food

WPSQ Sunshine Coast & Hinterland Inc, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first regional WPSQ branch (Caloundra) Branch Highlights and Displays Branches, our members will be keen to learn about activities in your area. On Saturday from 9 am, there will be 3–4 minutes for each Branch to present their Branch Highlights, if they wish to do so.

Please bring along a display, and let the host Branch know before the weekend so a display table can be organised.


The Friday night dinner speakers are Paul Smith, co-ordinator of the Faunawatch program on the Sunshine Coast; and Julie O’Connor, Senior Conservation Project Officer, Community Conservation Partnerships, Sunshine Coast Council

The Annual Dinner (Saturday) speaker is Associate Professor Dr Neil Tindale, University of the Sunshine Coast, whose subject will be ‘Climate Change: update of the science, and the impacts on biodiversity and conservation’.
