Wildflower Day

Cutting the CakeOn Saturday September 1st, the Branch held a very successful Kathleen McArthur Wildflower Day at the Currimundi Lake Kathleen McArthur Conservation Park, Caloundra, as part of  celebrations for the Society’s 50th Anniversary. Other environmental groups had been invited to set up displays, the Lions Club of Lake Currimundi-Kawana provided a sausage sizzle, and it was a really enjoyable day.  The weather was fine, though the wind was a little chilly.  Two well attended guided walks were taken through the wildflower area of the Park, with participants being amazed at the colour and variety of these wallum heathland plants.  The highlight of the day was the cutting of the birthday cake.
